  • Impetuous Innocent By Stephanie Laurens After her father s death, Georgiana Hartley found herself at the mercy of her lecherous cousin Seeking refuge at the neighboring estate, she came across a danger of another sort in the form of Dominic Ridgely, Viscount Alton of Candlewick, who was only too willing to help her, even in such a highly improper situation.

Stephanie Laurens was born in Sri Lanka, which was at the time the British colony of Ceylon When she was 5, her family moved to Melbourne, Australia, where she was raised After continuing through school and earning a Ph.D in Biochemistry in Australia, Stephanie and her husband moved to Great Britain, taking one of the last true overland journeys from Katmandu to London.Once in London, Stephanie and her husband both began work as research scientists in Kent They lived in an area surrounded by history Their own cottage was built in the 16th century, while next door were the protected ruins of an early Roman villa, and nearby was a 14th century castle. After four years in England, Stephanie and her husband returned to Australia, where she continued to work in cancer research, eventually heading her own research laboratory One evening Stephanie realized that she did not have any of her favorite romance novels to read After years of thinking about writing her own novel, during nights and weekends for the next several months, she began crafting her own story That manuscript, Tangled Reins, was the first of her books to be published After achieving a level of success with her novels, Stephanie retired from scientific research and became a full time novelist Her novels are primarily historical romances set in the Regency time period.Stephanie and her husband live on peaceful acreage on the outskirts of Melbourne If she isn t writing, she s reading, and if she s not reading, she s tending her garden.

3 I hate to rate this story so low stars but this is a review of the audio book and the narrator really took away from my overall enjoyment Story 4 starsNarration 2 starsOverall rating 3 starsQuickie description Georgiana Hartley finds herself jumping from the frying pan into the fire when she flees the unwanted advances of her vile cousin Charles, and ends up being protected by Dominic Ridgely, Viscount of Candlewick, a man who s a danger to her heart than Charles could ever be to her body.Qui [...]

This book definitely has it s flaws but it depends on how much your willing to look past it, I guess, and I did so easily, even happily Sure the heroine has her moments, you know those moments, where she needs a good hard shake until her brains rattle but I couldn t help liking this book Miss Georgiana Hartley has come to Candlewick Hall to to beg for assistance against her lecherous cousin, Charles what is it about cousins coming onto cousins in these books Yuck Unfortunately there isn t a symp [...]

13 11 So light it was like fairy floss Light on the romance and light on the plot believability The heroine, Georgiana, spent the whole book believing there was no way the hero, Dominic, could actually be in love with her She came up with all kinds of crazy reasons for her disbelief in love with another, marrying her for her property, and finally marrying her to avoid creating a scandal. There were a few things I liked about the story I liked the fact that the hero realised he was in love quite e [...]

    Khanh (the meanie)
Complete fluff, too light even for brain candy No serious, compelling plot A heroine who s tstl for a Regency Main male lead is a wordly man of the ton, who is considerably older and wiser than the heroine, yet he inexplicably feels a pull towards her anyway Utterly unbelievable love story.

ridiculous and yet tedious at the same time not exciting at all

Georgiana has to be the most oblivious and annoying creature I ve run across in romantic literature in a long time While at first her innocence is charming, it quickly becomes annoying as she sits in astonished bewilderment far often than any woman of modest intelligence should Also, her doubts about Dominic are incredible to me Loving someone whom you d be willing to marry implies to me that you know something about their character and that you trust them Love without knowledge and trust of th [...]

Georgiana is basically too innocent to function Dominic is like such a rake He convinces his sister to launch her in society and when he stops in for a visit he s STRUCK She s in insta love he figures out his man feelings and hijinks ensue 1 This was decently written Overly simplistic and somewhat repetitious, yes, but the majority of characters were interesting and I was suitably intrigued by the story to keep reading.2 HOWEVER, some of the December May tropes were a little gross Yes, there s a [...]

Yep, I read a romance last night Now normally I read books that aren t just pure fluff, but it was Valentine s Day and my boyfriend was snoring beside meyou get the the picture Now, about the book itself It was actually a really good read, and I enjoyed the banter and fluff between Dominic and Georgiana Her complete belief that the gorgeous lord could ever find her attractive is believable at first, but then falls down a little toward the end because it s overdone.Still, I enjoyed reading this o [...]

Cute, quick romantic read There wasn t a lot of depth to it, but it was very light hearted and fun to breeze through The main characters were interesting, the regency setting was fun, and the story was cute Georgianna was stubborn to a fault and I found her irritating at times I loved Bella and Arthur Dominic may have been very handsome, but his attitude, schemeing, and mechinizations were very bothersome to me Lots of sexual tension, a well laid plot, and a nice conclusion I guess you shouldn t [...]

I liked this one Sometimes Georgie was so innocent that it got on my nerves Especially since she lived in Italy most of her life But what really made this story was the fact that what was proper in England was just not so in Italy It was a good read It made me laugh and mad sometimes but it was still simply good.Happy Reading

Great novel Traditional Regency proper English spelling Absolutely love that fact The plot itself was good Misunderstanding aplenty which could be tedious at times, but love the characters even the minor ones were well developed HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This is a great series for those that don t want detailed love scenes.

    Hilarious But possibly not intentionally.

I have been an absolute fan of Stephanie Lauren s work ever since I picked up a copy of Devil s Bride and discovered the world of the Cynsters and the Bastion Club As a self confessed picky reader, I couldn t devour these books fast enough And then I came across Impetuous Innocent In this story, we get the nobleman H, Dominic, who is successful as well as handsome He s sought after by every marriage minded female and therefore has never had any trouble getting someone to fall for him We also get [...]

Definitely a meh kind of read The age gap between Dominic and Georgiana feels huge and she s too naive to be an enjoyable character Dominic is just blah.

I m of two minds about this book I did find it fun and satisfying, but some of the dynamics rubbed me the wrong way Being party to the hero s deliberate manipulations of the heroine s innocence felt too cynical rather than suitably romantic There was also the structural weakness of having the strong heroine be too young to take much of a stand about anything in her life three or four years older and no other substantial change would have made a good difference I liked the secondary couple, thoug [...]

Worst Stephanie Laurens book I have read and I think I have read 90% of them I love her Cynster and Bastion Club novels that are romantic, steamy, and entertaining with clever witty exchanges between characters I can only assume this book was written before Ms Laurens developed her engaging author s voice and the delight of her mature female heroines. This book sets up at the beginning that the hero is attracted to the heroine even if she is only 18 because she was raised in Italy and has a polis [...]

I love Stephanie Laurens With that being said, I hate this book More specifically, I hate Georgiana Hartley I finished the book because I started it but this may be my least favorite of Stephanie s work I am accustomed to strong women like the Cynsters co but Georgiana was whiny and bland In the other books the women knew what they wanted and sought it out The love story was dull because you never saw how Dominic and Georgiana came to love each other They never really talked when they were toget [...]

Loved Style, setting, Dominic, Arthur, sensuality, the last chapter of the novelEh Georgiana, BellaHated Charles, length, Georgiana swinging between in love and determined to push Dominic away when she should have just stuck to one or the otherTook ages to finish because it moved really slowly Some of the minor plotlines were boring and skipped over I really liked Dominic and I liked Georgiana for the first half of the book, but she started doing the stupidest things and I kept rolling my eyes a [...]

Review I was pleasantly surprised by this novel Having read nearly all of Laurens s work going back to reading a book she wrote early in her career was an interesting experience It s a lot less sexual than later books which was a nice change I absolutely loved Georgiana and Belle They were both so strong, but also unusual in their view of ton activities Dominic was an intriguing character not quite as alpha male as the heroes in, for example, the Cynster series.Genre Historical RomanceCharacters [...]

I liked the plot and the conflicts the characters have to over come However, the lead female, Georgiana is 18 to the lead male, Dominic s 32 I m not sure if it was the author s intent, but Georgie s naivete and confusion when dealing with Dominic comes across as being airheaded and overall makes her a week character When reading from Dominic s perspective, his fondness and affection for Georgie seems almost patronizing I think I would have enjoyed this better if Georgie had been older or a stron [...]

The plot was very simple The book a quick read As for the characters Bella was simply beautiful, her husband Arthur perfect As for the main characters Georgiana was very naive and young From time to time very irritating As for Dominic in all his vast knowledge of the female mind, he had no idea what a good communication is all about He would save time and confusion if he only talked to Georgiana.Overall it was nice, a bit irritating regency romance And like all other books let in that period, it [...]

Historical English romance with an orphaned Georgiana who is protected by a gallant sexy neighbor, Lord Dominic Ridgeley from her evil read stupid cousin.Lots of London season stuff that Georgiana discovers while falling in love with Dominic Clean romance story, but the second book does have sexy time as well as being a road trip story.286 pages and an extra book called The Accidental Princess by Michelle Willingham to make this book 569 pages in total2 stars

Except for a few small quibbles, this book has got the hang of Regency romance There were a few instances that just wouldn t have been allowed in Regency times but for the most part Ms Laurens paints a true picture The pace was good and I read it in one day, which says it all Now if I can just find like this that aren t Georgette Heyer, which I have read over and over again I m looking for new writers of the genre that know what they are doing.

Good book Needed something to garner 4 stars from me There was a lot of back and forth Georgiana walks the line of innocent and bumbling idiot and not enough Romance If you wait the whole book for them to carnally become lovers you ll have to keep waiting Book ends right before her innocence is marred Wanted so bad to hear the romantic dialogue of them connecting as lovers pillow talk, the start of their lives together, etc but never got it On to the next book

    Book Him Danno
A sweet romance that is just thatsweet.absolutely no Sex The romance grows slowly and the book was longer then I would have expected, but the romance made a natural progression and even with the twists and turns the whole book was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon at home on a cool rainy day I would recommend this to anyone who likes romance or wants to give the genre a try A good story to boot.
