Percy Peach delights in tormenting his superior Tommy Tucker with strange facts and figures showing that Freemasons are likely to commit serious crimes than those who aren t Freemasons When someone is murdered in the car park of the hotel during the local Lodge s Ladies Night, Percy is highly amused and takes pleasure in treating his superior as a potential suspect as he was at the social event. As Peach and D S Lucy Blake investigate this intriguing case they uncover secrets many of those at th [...]

Peach s revels are now ended and he s slipped away into thin air Not that the series has ended, it goes on, and on, but it s not KU and not worth the asking price to me In MatL surely 25% was taken up with Peach s over extended confrontations with his witless boss This isn t just boring, it s cruel Worse, in this one Peach who solved the crime at the 97% point with a fluke report, after a heartfelt heads up from Gregson that crime solving is hard and just a bit chancy proves he s no great detect [...]

Murder at the Lodge has everything a reader like myself could hope for cleverness of characters, humor, surprise twists This was my first book by JM Gregson and was not disappointed I will be adding this author to my favorites list.

Well, the storyline is good, it is a classic British murder mystery Most of the characters are well developed and believable but for 3 keyplayers.A superintendent who seems to have a IQ of minus 20, DI Peach and his partner both professional and personal DS Blake. They are bordering on the slapstick side, unfortunately without the fun There is a love bed scene between the protagonists, and apart from being completely superfluous, it is probably a perfect antidote to any kind of love at all the blok [...]

Inspector Percy Peach combines the genius of Morse with the cleverness and humor of Inspector Frost Reading Murder at the Lodge was an absolute pleasure Readers get not only a well thought out murder mystery, but a lead who has a distinct talent for unnerving suspects and taking the piss with aka taunting his less than competent superior, Superintendent Tucker I had to smile every time Peach out thought and out spoke both those he questioned and his boss The supporting characters were also well [...]

I just cant get enough of GM Gregson, whether it Peach or Lambert, the books are just entertaining Plenty of red herring, suspects and not so much in this one but surprise endings With this one it was the journey that made the book very readable and enjoyable Just fabulous

DI Percy Peach the name signals the cozy side of this mystery, the dry wit, the comic moments, the lightness of what is a grisly murderer s trail So glad I discovered J.M Gregson on the library shelf A murder mystery that is fun to read some humor, great characterization, twists galore, and a writing style that is such a pleasure to read I want Inspector Peach Thank goodness this one is 6 and 18 is going to come out in March so I have plenty to look forward to The management of facial expressio [...]

I think this was the only Gregson book I ve read, so I know nothing of the series history, but that didn t detract from the story Judging it only as a one book read, I enjoyed it A good murder and detective work by engaging characters The humor concerning th dumb boss was a bit over done if he was that stupid, how did he get to the rank of superintendent I ll be reading by this author.

DI Percy Peach and DS Lucy Blake are called out to investigate a killing A killing at an Inn hosting the Masonic Lodge Ladies night Finding out about the dead man s personal life results in quite a few suspects Can that vital clue to point out the murderer be found. An interesting mystery with an easy writing style.A NetGalley Book

Reasonable read, but not the most outstanding of Gregson s books.
