When I am not writing, I toss tennis balls to my cadre of dogs My house is filled with books and dogs, you can smell both when you walk in the front door It s a good smell.I have 36 published novels and am currently writing in the mystery genre My latest mystery, The Dead of Winter, was a finalist for the Clay Award and is the first in the Piper Blackwell series.I live in a tiny town in the middle of Illinois that has a Dollar General, a pizza place with exceedingly slow service, a veterinarian good thing, eh , and train trackslots of train tracks.

Much better than the last one The action was defined the characters settled the world believable than a simple campaign setting My one problem is that Wizards of the coast seem to make them compact their novels so that they always fit around the 300 315 page maximum This book needed time to grow Such a shame.

the dragons are all powerful, scheming against one another and trying to best each other whilst pretending to be working together the friends do their very best to recapture some of the magical artifacts from the golden age of magic and they do real well but then a complication and a twist which was so unexpected proved to be a real set back many of the friends where very hurt in a terrible fight but palin s magic saves the day in so far as the day could be saved.

A good continuation of the series At the end of the Chaos series, Krynn would have been difficult to write for The gods had departed so there was now a space after the first three series had been a Cataclysm bought on by the gods, a return of the gods and a Mage seeking to replace a god This series establishes the new form of magic and a new form of gods some old heroes and some new Well done.

It s been a long time since I read this series But I recall thoroughly enjoying Jean Rabe s combat sequences, especially involving Dhamon Grimwulf The introduction of the giant dragons and their interactions with both each other and the world at large were very interesting as well I cannot go into much detail than that, without re reading them.

I unfortunately read this completely out of sequence not only did I start with the second in a trilogy, but this was my first Dragonlance novel, ever For anyone unfamiliar with the long running franchise, this is about nine books deep into the core mythology and is a very poor starting point for anyone looking to dip their toes into such a huge universe Despite this, though or maybe, because of this , I actually quite enjoyed this much maligned novel Set during the Fifth Age of Krynn, the world [...]

This lady LOVES the word Rheumy Every third character introduced has rheumy eyes We get it lady, you have a new vocabulary wordgood for you NOW SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY Actually, this is not the only often repeated phrase or theme It s just the one that irritated me the most Also, every conflict or challenge is almost immediately resolved with little flare, struggle or imagination Jean Rabe seems so far to be a very lazy author and I m not impressed I completely recommend the earlier books by We [...]

Good God above, this was perhaps the worst book I ve ever forced myself to read Having gritted my teeth through the first one, I persevered through this one Because I m a sucker for punishment, I ll be going back for the third installment, only because I ve read 15 books in this world setting and want to see it through.

This second volume of the dragons of a new age trilogy is as entertaining and fast paced as the first one I am still a little put off by the dramatic changes introduced in the Dragonlance 5th age, but this did not prevent me from appreciating the book.

    better than the first

    Jennifer Kibble
The story is interesting enough but the writing seems off Dragonlance should only be in the hands of Margaret, Tracy, and a handful of other writers.

    Justin
Thank God Weis and Hickman came back with War of Souls and fixed this hot mess.

    Grzegorz Oleksa
Though not a jewel, it s much better than the first book, and makes me want to read the whole trilogy.
