    The poets all seem to have a talent that was evident in the translations, and the poems seemed like they were really good though they failed in being very memorable As a student in translation who had read numerous other Russian translations, however, these poems don t stand out to me as being well translated, a criticism I have heard from numerous others about other Dalkey Archives publications and have noticed with the Best European Fiction compilations, although those are hit or miss As I do [...]

    Too many would be Akhmatovas I didn t find a poem that really spoke to me in the bunch, but these poems are certainly better than most of the stuff that gets printed nowadays.
