Title Storming the Black Ice Pacific Rim Series 3 Author Don BrownPages 356Year 2014Publisher ZondervanMy rating is 5 out of 5 stars. This is the third book of the Pacific Rim Series, and it introduces some new characters All the books in the series could be read as standalone stories The setting begins in Antarctica with an Argentinian officer uncovers petroleum sources previously discovered, but kept secret by Great Britain Great Britain and Chile come to a secret accord to develop and share in [...]

1 Color 10 Form of Water thriller group challenge Antarctica Britain and Chile Venezuela and Argentina

3 of 3 in the series, all can be read individually The plot is intriguing, the author s knowledge of the subject is not so obvious this guy is a Navy JAG talking ops He s learned some The scenario might have been ripped from War College war game, and it shows Nevertheless, it was a pretty good book, light on the technical details and fun to read Why only three stars I just couldn t get into the listen.

This was a well written book The story line was different and the author had me guessing a good part of the book, which usually doesn t happen It was a good read.

Once again, I feel like I m in the minority because I didn t love this book To sum up, the book is based around the idea that the British have found a huge oil deposit in Antarctica and have a base set up researching and protecting it They are attacked by Venezuela who is working with Argentina and want to take control of the deposit as they are worried about another country getting a piece of the fuel money pie in South America The book follows various characters, my favorite being Austin River [...]

Review This is a very well written story whose greatest appeal will most assuredly be men While women can enjoy it, the plot which is intricately woven throughout with scenes of naval action on submarines Conflict militarily Abuse of prisoners Descriptions replete with strategic maneuvers and the complexities of South America and Antarctica geography and political atmosphere References to the Falkland Island war of 30 years past are important to this story International intrigue that span oceans [...]

This is a war story, so there are violent, gory and bloody parts in this book There are also lots of technical sections, and jargon about war equipment, particularly submarines The author goes into great detail about those items This is a fast moving adventure with lots of excitement. There are some clear positives and negatives about this story On the negative side, there is drinking of alcohol, some adult situations are discussed, and a small amount of profanity Those aren t the kind of things [...]

My only complaint with Don Brown s books, are that he doesn t write enough of them I quickly became a fan of his books when I read his first one, Treason, nine years ago I like military fiction, and there isn t a lot of it being written on the Christian market, though there is than there used to be Storming the Black Ice is set in a couple of places that I don t know much about, nor have I read many books, if any, set there Chili and Antarctica Brown brings back a main character from a couple o [...]

Deep under the icy tundra of Antarctica, black gold awaits discovery and exploitation Knowing that the nations that control that oil will have access to the world s largest oil reserves, Britain and Chili form a top secret alliance to harvest the oil However, their plans are thwarted when the Argentinians attack the British outpost on Antarctica Soon, Britain and Chile find themselves at war with Argentina and enemy allies Venezuela and Russia Pete Miranda, an America sub commander on assignment [...]

I have always enjoyed books by Don Brown I have read all his other novels and while there were a couple things I didn t care for, overall they are very interesting and quite relevant for the world we live in today I actually think this one might be my favorite out of the Pacific Rim Series Nothing so exciting as submarine battles under the sea Okay, I can think of some other exciting things but this is written very well and you feel the pressure put on the sea captains along with the tense situa [...]

I couldn t put this book down fast enough.Truth is, I tried to like Storming the Black Ice The plot is intriguing, the author s knowledge of what was is going on is obvious But the writing is painfully slow I couldn t finish the book.Maybe it would have helped if I d started with the first two books in the series But I couldn t get into the story of the book Not only that but the descriptive language seemed almost clich I m willing to say it s a personal preference, but I m not planning to read [...]

Readers who like military suspense with sea battle scenes will like this book Brown has created a possible scene of a few years in the future where Britain and Argentina war over newly discovered oil reserves in the Antarctic There is a mean Argentine captain who thinks nothing of using extreme techniques to get what he wants from captured Brits There are great submarine battles too So, lots of action in this novel There are also three romances, a bit much for me And the end is a little too quic [...]

All in all, I loved this book It was super intense, a great story that kept me on my toes and constantly flipping pages I have never read a book where so many characters 23 total played a part and I salute Mr Brown in doing such an awesome job It was so neat to see the perspectives of both sides and in a way that wasn t confusing for me as the reader So well done However, because it is military, and due to the gore and graphics of this novel, I would not recommend just anyone reading this To rea [...]

Chile and Britian discover oil in Antarctica and decide how to divide up the catch Then Venezula and Argentinean intelligence uncover this and attack, capturing British geologists The Navy is quickly pulled in as the Argentinean submarines battle the British surface fleet Why I started this book I have found Brown to awesome at setting up realistic scenarios of potential world conflict. Why I finished it I almost didn t There was some really ridiculous characters and situations Strong Born Again [...]

This was a awesome book If you like a good clean Christian military book, then this is the book for you Mr Brown really draws you into the characters This is the first book I ve read that I not only pulled for the hero s, but I also felt bad when the enemy was killed Great book

Quite an exciting political story I learned quite a bit about the Navy All the characters were well defined I also enjoyed the Spiritually in this novel The narrator did an excellent job and used accents He made the story even riveting I m looking forward to the rest in the series.

This was a very good book Inspiring in many ways, but alittle to technical with all the detailed of the maps and ships but for a sea lover it would be perfect didnt interfere with the good story though

A very good Fast pace and could not put it down Great job Don Brown

Excellent Don Brown always keeps me on the edge of my seat The characters are very well developed Great engaging story

Second book in the series I have read, and it is much better than the first I really enjoyed this book.
