    This is one of my favorite novels An intriguing and well written story that does an excellent job of capturing the essence of the personalities and values that go along with military leadership, regardless of the country.

    Three German WWII vets, also Iron Cross winners, are reacquainted withan old Waffen SS officer and adversary Somewhat predictable story linebut enjoyable.

    There s a lot to think about in this book Written in 1993, it is a military action adventure story with serious PTSD overtones Thankfully we don t focus on the Vietnam Vet main character s war PTSD While that would be an admirable subject, it would be cliche Instead Scott chooses to focus on the PTSD and unresolved WWII issues of the man who will become the surrogate father and father in law to our main character This was the main focus of the book for me Of course they avenged actions taken by [...]

    Very interesting told from the point of view of a US Army officer and two former Luftwaffe officers after WWII I met the author at a bookstore and he graciously autographed my copy.
