3.5 starsI just wrote a terribly long review, and then GR spazzed and the review was lost. So, I m not rewriting I will say that I don t agree with how Ryu is handled in this book Jane is USING Ryu than he ever used her And then after Jane asks for a favor, she s immediately turning around and calling Ryu selfish I m perplexed by Jane s new nympho nature Okay first she lusted after Ryu, then Anyan, and in this book she has a make out session with Blondie Seriously Jane, get it together She seems [...]

Nicole Peeler has risen to the very top of my list of funny authors I don t think I ve ever laughed so much with a book Maybe I ll write a full review during the weekend, but I don t see much point to it Being the fourth book, all anyone needs to know is that it lives up to everything I was hoping for and .

    Dark Faerie Tales
Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick Dirty A tense race to find out what is stirring beneath Rockabill before the bad guys do This book is progressively serious than the rest of the series, but still delivers all the jokes and jabs we expect from Jane and her friends.Opening Sentence I awoke slowly, languorously, my still mostly sleeping brain registering surprise when my nose smooshed into soft leather rather than sheets. The Review The Jane True series has been a delight to read the new i [...]

Rating 3.5 Genre Urban Fantasy Review Jane has been busy since we last read the Tempest s Legacy A month has since passed and Jane and Anyan have been searching high and low for those responsible for killing Jane s mother Mari Now that Jari and Morrigan have been exposed for what they truly are conniving and loathsome beings that were responsible for killing off half breeds it s only a matter of time before things come to a final conclusion.Yes, Anyan and Jane are together and that asshat Ryu is [...]

Sexual tension To the point where it s almost painful Oh, and some other stuff It must be said that Jane s libido is one of my favorite characters and when it s being denied she gets grumpy And snarky What I wasn t prepared for was the twist Basically Jane becomes the chosen one My book friends know how much this annoys me Very few authors can pull off the chosen one bull crap and it always puts the fear in me But this is Peeler To me she can do no wrong and I highly doubt she s going to make J [...]

Waking from a month long comma, Jane finds her peaceful small town in turmoil Weird things are happening in Rockabill and when Nell and Anyan get taken out of commission by a nasty spell, it s up to Jane and her new friend Blondie to get to the bottom of it all literally Be prepared for non stop ass kicking action, lots sexual frustration, and as always snarky and humorous dialogue internal and external. This fourth book I felt it was a bit different from the others in the sense that it was fant [...]

Nicole Peeler books are always a treat, and Eye of the Tempest proves no exception to the rule As per usual, I purchased it the day it came out, read it as fast as possiblewhich was slow for me this week too much life going on However, I will now proceed to whinge until the next book is out What can I say Peeler is always good.In Eye of the Tempest, Jane True has discovered something interesting about her home town of Rockabill Maine The town is the center of an ancient power that attracts all f [...]

The Jane True series is one of my favorites and I was really looking forward to this book in spite of the horrendous changes they made to the cover Though it was a quick read and still pretty good, it was by far my least favorite book in the series and left me with mixed emotions I love Jane and I really wanted to love this book but I just didn t It fell flat for me and when I finished I was both sad and a little angry.Snarky Jane was still there and kicking ass but certain scenes were really dr [...]

I was so looking forward to this book and it s just a huge tease That doesn t mean I didn t enjoy it because I did Jane and Anyan just got home from their last huge fight and get attacked again leaving Jane in a coma for a month When she finally comes out of it, not only does she have to play catch up but she finds out strange things are happening in the town This, of course, leaves NO time for her and Anyan And then something happens and there is absolutely NO time for her and Anyan Nicole Peel [...]

Favorite Lines Jane, you are starting to creep me out Someone who pees on the local fauna in order to mark his Territory That says something p 8 SPOILER RANT FILLED REVIEW Book four in Nicole Peeler s Jane True series was disappointing I loved the previous books Each one continually got better The end of book three, Tempest s Legacy, was awesome I craved Eye of the Tempest It was everything I expected for about a chapter and a half Then I met a Jane who worked my nerves I couldn t stand her Espe [...]

Another great entry in the Jane True saga What I like best about this series is the skilled storytelling Dr Peeler crafts a really good tale for each book and has a clear plan for the series as well It s just tremendous fun to sit back and watch Nicole do her thing, she writes these books that are just wonderfully good fun on the surface but that are also really thoughtfully designed and smart The series has a clear plan, it isn t like some that just sort of bumble along with the heroine jumping [...]

reviewed by urbanfantasyinvestigations.bloI could not put down EYE OF THE TEMPEST There is non stop action, fantastic kick butt characters, tons of sexual frustration, laugh out loud commentary and some great surprises thrown in to make what I feel is the best Jane True novel yet Jane has really grown into the supernatural world and herself She gets some answers and finds a new ally in her fight to protect Her and Anyan are attempting to start up a relationship that has been forming for a while [...]

Start of the book was not so great, but then book take same fast action, comedic and intresting phase where I have grown used in Nicole Peelers previous books.Jane True is not typical paranormal heroine, but she is really independent woman who can make her own decisions and these independent thoughs are not typical I disagree with male lead and then realises during book that male lead was right Nicole Peeler makes much intresting plot twist as she make male lead to be cursed as dog most of the [...]

Eye of the Tempest by Nicole Peeler stars Jane True, a half silkie Jane has a destiny that even she is unsure she is ready for Jane and and her friends are being led to fight a war A war bigger then even Jane herself can imagine When a powerful and ancient being, with the power to destroy half of the eastern sea board and possibly the world , awakes Jane must use her gut and heart to decide what is the right path Her friends and family are in danger and she must be the one to protect them.I LOVE [...]

Apparently I forgot to mark this read in but had put it in my database as done and reviewed Huh This is what I wrote I keep my reviews in calibre, too Definitely not the best effort in the series and the end could be called a cliff hanger, although I won t quibble too much with it given that most of the events of the book found a resolution Cock blocking as a plot device runs amok in this book, however It runs too long to be cute in the beginning, but ends on a massive cock block and consummatio [...]

This is the longest time i ever take to read a book It was frustrating that I was actually skimming through it but I just couldn t bring myself to finish it This series is pretty nice but as years goes on the talk about Jane s libido has taken a toll on me and her constant conversation with her virtues and libido really puts me off. There are some missing chapters for my book and I was pretty much skimming through it.Almost every page, Jane will talk about her libido and it gets really tiring for [...]

Fourth in the Jane True urban fantasy series about Jane, her friends, and their stumbling adventures in fighting the bad guys in Rockabill, Maine. My TakeThis is a bridge novel setting us up for the adventures in Tempest s Fury.Hide the milkbones Jane is in almost constant conflict between her libido and her virtue And it s just too funny to read Considering what a sheltered life she s led, there s something to be said for the value of readingahem Omigod, Jane s sensual exploration of Anyan s Wol [...]

I feel like the Jane True series veered from it s path a bit in this latest installment Don t get me wrong I enjoyed it But there are big changes afoot, both for Jane and the landscape of her world.I started this book with one thought If Jane and Anyan don t kiss, I m going to Nicole Peeler s house and accosting her with my nook I mean, I have been waiting with drool in the corner of my mouth patiently for these two to realize their feelings and now that they have, there should be no waiting, r [...]

This is the fourth book in the Jane True series by Peeler This book was less romance and urban fantasy than the previous books I really enjoyed it and am intrigued by some of the turns the story takes.Jane is trying to catch her breath from all of the events that happened in the last book Then strange things start happening in the town of Rockabill Random people normal and supernaturals alike start spouting strange warnings without realizing it and some of the baddies we ve all grown to hate sh [...]

Eye of the Tempest was another fast paced instalment in this fantastic series.Jane accidentally short circuits herself when she pulls the water from several human beings to protect Anyan during an attack It kills the men, and it nearly kills her as well When she wakes up, a month has passed and strange occurrences are becoming frequent in Rockabill.Jane once again had me in fits of laughter her trademark libido vs virtue monologue is absolutely hilarious Jane is growing as a character those cha [...]

My thoughts If you re at all interested in publishing, or maybe even if you aren t, you ll have heard people talk about author voice before Like many people, I didn t quite get it, but Nicole Peeler has it, in spades I started following her on twitter a couple of months before I got the first book Tempest Rising , and as soon as I started the book, I could see it the writing is so totally Nicole The way she talks on twitter is the way she writes in the books, and I love it I haven t reviewed any [...]

The Rant Spoiler I m starting this review with a small rant and spoiler and it can be summed up with cock blocking view spoiler I mean how many times can Peeler stop Jane and Anyan from doing the deed That part where his dick was knocking on her vagina and Blondie popped in GRRRR And then she goes and makes him a dog for 80% of the book I guess that was better than having people walking in on them When they finally get around to it, it better be fucking amazing hide spoiler The Plot Eye of the [...]

I started this series on a whim, judged the books by their covers and thought why not That being said, I am enjoying them immensely They re light and fluffy and make me laugh right out loud, but they re also filled with so much of the urban fantasy and light mystery that I love If you read them as light fluffy not too dark books they are you will love them too Jane is a hoot Diving in to the next one now.
